😺 Finnikin! 😺

  Most of you probably don’t know yet, but we have a new cat! His name is Finnikin—After the book Finnikin of the Rock. He is light orange with stripes, and very cuddly. He isn’t as arrogant or proud as Basil, and loooves to snuggle with us! How did we end up with a new cat? It started January 13th, 2021, and it was about 9:30 at night. I was lying in bed and I heard a sad meowing sound. I got my dad, and when we went to investigate we found a tiny, orange, kitty! He was very cold and skinny, so we brought him inside and made him warm and gave him some food. We weren’t planning on keeping him but we were taking care of him. For the first 2 days, All he did was meow. Meow, meow, meow, cuddle, meow, rub against me, meow, eat, meow. Eventually after lots of petting and exploring our basement, he got comfortable in our home. Eventually, I was so attached to him I asked my Dad if we could keep him! 🏠 Rooftop Recreation 🏠

  My sisters and I have been going up on the roof. It all started a while ago, when I remembered that I had gotten a ladder and climbed up to get a ball—or maybe a frisbee, I can’t remember. And I was standing outside a while ago with my dad on the porch, and I was bored. Then I remembered the ladder! I went and I got it out of the barn, and I climbed up on top and then taunted my sisters. Then they wanted to get up.Then we set up the ladder and started coming up daily. It was a bit scary at first but now I walk as easily and quickly as I can on flat ground. We started coming up more and more often and now we just come up here whenever we want. In fact, I’m writing this blog up on the roof right now! It’s so nice to just bask in the sun—especially since it is the end of winter, and the air is chilly. The dark tiles just absorb so much heat, and while writing this piece I kept getting distracted and sprawling out on the sun-soaked roof. Another neat thing is that we get to see plane...
