🏠 Rooftop Recreation 🏠

My sisters and I have been going up on the roof. It all started a while ago, when I remembered that I had gotten a ladder and climbed up to get a ball—or maybe a frisbee, I can’t remember. And I was standing outside a while ago with my dad on the porch, and I was bored. Then I remembered the ladder! I went and I got it out of the barn, and I climbed up on top and then taunted my sisters. Then they wanted to get up.Then we set up the ladder and started coming up daily. It was a bit scary at first but now I walk as easily and quickly as I can on flat ground. We started coming up more and more often and now we just come up here whenever we want. In fact, I’m writing this blog up on the roof right now!

It’s so nice to just bask in the sun—especially since it is the end of winter, and the air is chilly. The dark tiles just absorb so much heat, and while writing this piece I kept getting distracted and sprawling out on the sun-soaked roof. Another neat thing is that we get to see planes and birds closeup. We aren’t particularly close to an airport, but I guess we’re close enough, because often a plane will come flying overhead and we can see It in higher detail. One time, there was a plane so close to us that we could see it super well! It was probably about 300 feet above us. (I’m not great at estimating but it was pretty close.) Another time we saw a group of birds that were literally flying a stones throw away from us. Plus you get a great view on stuff. I have a pair of binoculars that I love to use to watch birds and cars and stuff.

So all in all, going on the roof is great! As long as you don’t fall.
