πŸƒπŸ»‍♂️ Cross Country πŸƒπŸ»‍♂️

I participate in a sport called Cross Country. This is a running sport where you run through many terrains like woods, fields, or even deserts if you have deserts near you. It’s like Track, but it is less common. Also, you run a lot longer. XC is a long-distance sport, so you would run 2-3 miles.  I like XC because I can be with friends, and I like to be a part of a team. It’s also fun! You push yourself, and it’s more of a mental sport. I’m pretty good at it, too. My best time for 2 miles is 14:30 (roughly). I did it in 6th grade and had success, but then, of course, y’know, COVID. So, this year, I have a 4 week season. So I’m making the best of it. Here’s a picture of me running at our meet this Monday. They’re kind of far away but it’s ok.  I’m doing another meet again in a couple days. We only have four meets this year. I actually just got back from running with my mom; we did about 3 miles for practice. I have to drink a ton of water and eat lots of carbs before a ...

πŸ‰ Bearded Dragon πŸ‰

Image
I’ve been thinking about getting a bearded dragon for a long time. They are playful, adorable lizards that can grow up to 2 feet long, and are native to Australia. They are interactive and can grow close bonds with humans, and they are super fun to care for and feed. One of the reasons I want one is that I wanted a pet—that can be mine to take care of—but I didn’t want something like a fish that would look at you and do nothing else. I wanted something that I could actually hold or love on. Now, I realize that a bearded dragon is a slightly extreme/exotic option for an interactive pet, but whatever. I just want one.  So I’ve done a bit of research. I have a nice stash of money that I’ve been saving for it (They can be quite expensive, what with the tank and lighting system) and I’ve been considering it for a while. I had 95% decided I would get one a few weeks ago, but then I slowly started changing my mind. That’s how it’s gone the last year or two. I think my Mom and Dad a...

⭐️ Hamilton! ⭐️

Image
You may or may not have heard of the award-winning musical Hamilton, but if you have not, I will give you a summary. You see, it is one of my very favorite things, and so I probably talk about it alot.  Basically, Lin-Manuel Miranda was inspired by a book about Alexander Hamilton, 1st treasurer of the United States. He created a musical about it, and then it took the world by storm in 2015. It came out on Disney+ July 3rd, 2020.  Hamilton is the story of Alexander Hamilton, who grew up in a poor, impoverished island in the Caribbean. His town is destroyed in a hurricane, and at age 17 he wrote a refrain to express his loneliness. The people around him were like, “Whoah, this kid is smart,” and they took up a collection to send him to New York. He gets there and starts making friends and creating a stir. He gets recruited to the army and eventually becomes a general, leading the armies of the Revolution to victory in many battles including the legendary Battle of Yorkto...

πŸ’¦ Water πŸ’¦

Image
Water is gross. I don’t like it.  Of course, this is unfortunate for me because it is one of the most essential things on the planet and it’s a huge thing that we should be grateful for, having fresh, clean, delicious spring water at our fingertips, and I need it to survive . Plus, I run Cross Country so it is even more vital for my life.  Yeah, no. I still don’t like it. So, while I don’t particularly like eating or drinking, I have found ways to put liquid into my body in a yummier manner. One personal favorite is lemon water . I like it because you can still taste water but it’s lemony. There are also lemonade packets that I sometimes put in my water bottle, and we have some Gatorade powder . There’s also non-water drinks, such as Gatorade, lemonade, milk, chocolate milk. and bubblies.* I have also found that drinking bottled water is better. It tastes different, and I kinda like it. And, I will still drink water even though I don’t like it or if I am very thirst...
